Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Australian Deputy Prime Minister Richard Marles are set to attend the highly anticipated World Cup cricket final between India and Australia scheduled for Sunday at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Motera. Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel chaired a high-level meeting in Gandhinagar on Friday to supervise security and logistical preparations for the event.
The official release confirmed the presence of Prime Minister Modi and Deputy Prime Minister Marles at the match on Sunday. Chief Minister Patel, during the meeting, focused on reviewing security measures and other arrangements, emphasizing the importance of minimizing inconvenience to the general public during VIP movements. He instructed officials to proactively communicate road closures and diversions in advance.
Additionally, Chief Minister Patel directed officials to enhance the frequency of metro trains heading towards Motera station, near the stadium, to facilitate the convenience of fans traveling from various parts of the country and abroad.
As both the Indian and Australian teams arrived in the city, the Indian team conducted a practice session at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Friday. The upcoming World Cup final is expected to witness an air show by the renowned Indian Air Force's Surya Kiran aerobatics team before the game on Sunday.
